Abstract：Using cases and anecdotes, this seminarwill discuss the importance and emerging research issues in the field of dataanalytics in operations and supply chain management. I want to share 3 keylessons I have learned over the years:

– Datais beautiful. Understand and appreciate it.

– Butyou need to use the right data for the right problem.

– Yourmodel must be able to cope with errors in parameters input and modellingassumptions. Learn from data.

主講人簡(jiǎn)介：Teo Chung Piaw教授，新加坡國(guó)立大學(xué)商學(xué)院

1990年本科畢業(yè)于新加坡國(guó)立大學(xué)（NUS）數(shù)學(xué)系，1996年博士畢業(yè)于麻省理工學(xué)院（MIT）運(yùn)作管理專業(yè)，博士畢業(yè)后即回到新加坡國(guó)立大學(xué)商學(xué)院任教至今，1996年至今擔(dān)任新加坡國(guó)立大學(xué)商學(xué)院副教授/教授。

目前，擔(dān)任新加坡國(guó)立大學(xué)OR中心主任（曾任商學(xué)院系主任/副院長(zhǎng)/執(zhí)行院長(zhǎng)等職位），并且擔(dān)任管理科學(xué)旗艦期刊OperationsResearch的領(lǐng)域編輯，Management Science的副主編。Teo教授獲得美國(guó)西北大學(xué)Eschbach學(xué)者，臺(tái)灣元智大學(xué)杰出訪問(wèn)教授，新加坡國(guó)立大學(xué)Provost ChairProfessor等榮譽(yù)稱號(hào)，擔(dān)任2009年和2012年中國(guó)最高管理學(xué)獎(jiǎng)——復(fù)旦“管理學(xué)杰出貢獻(xiàn)獎(jiǎng)”專家委員會(huì)委員，和運(yùn)籌學(xué)和管理學(xué)研究協(xié)會(huì)（INFORMS）的Nicholson論文競(jìng)賽委員會(huì)主席和IMPACT委員會(huì)委員，以及香港博士獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金遴選委員會(huì)委員。在國(guó)際頂級(jí)期刊OperationsResearch，Management Science，MathematicalProgramming，Production and Operations Management，Mathematics of Operations Research等發(fā)表高水平論文70多篇。他的研究興趣包括：服務(wù)和生產(chǎn)的靈活性，離散優(yōu)化，港口集裝箱業(yè)務(wù)和醫(yī)療等領(lǐng)域。
